Find Your Getaway in Richmond County in the outskirts at Ellerbe with an ultimate adrenaline rush at the newly developed 640 acre training facility Coleman’s Creek. This outdoor attraction is designed for military, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, as well as for private contracting agencies. This premier training destination boasts unparalleled long ranges laid out over gorgeous natural rolling hill terrain, scenic off-road riding trails, and features a 1-mile range (over 1,760 yards).
The group of owners includes veterans, children of veterans, firefighters, and former Federal agents. Committed to excellence in marksmanship for all shooters, the design catalyst for the owners was to build a facility to offer combat veterans an outlet to demonstrate their skills and share their passion and valuable lessons with their families and others. Also central to their motive was providing a high quality training venue for law enforcement agencies and civilians. In noticing a void in the training sites available to military and other agencies, the group of owners sought to accommodate this need.
Prior to May 1, 2020, when they began offering public memberships, the facility was only open to the military. Upon opening for memberships, many Richmond County residents have joined as members under their two membership options. The first option, Basic Membership, includes unlimited range time for 12 months on eight outdoor ranges, access to member-only events, and includes spouse and children under the age of 21. With this membership, members can bring one guest per visit for $50/day. The other membership option, Elite Membership, includes all of the perks of a Basic Membership, along with 12 day passes to bring a guest ($600 value), access to “Elite Member” only events, 20% discount on apparel, gear, and accessories, classes, and private instruction, and free snacks and drinks per visit.
For the month of September, they are offering special, limited-time monthly membership options of a Basic monthly membership for $60/month with a one-time registration fee of $100 and an Elite monthly membership for $100/month with a one-time registration fee of $100.
In addition, the facility offers high quality and safe firearm training programs, such as beginner pistol courses, basic and advanced long range course programs of instruction, defensive handgun classes, and numerous other instructional courses. Training classes, private instruction, and competitions are available for non-members.
This past weekend, August 29 & 30, they held their first Annual Sniper Competition with 58 competitors from all over the country with a father-son team taking first place. In February 26-28 2021, they will host the annual Bushnell Elite Tactical Sniper Challenge for the second consecutive year.
Passionate to be people of their word and do the right thing, the owning group strives to be good neighbors and take care of the community by becoming leaders in and protecting the area. The group seeks to recruit like-minded individuals to become members and continues to provide consistent focus on driving high standards through every aspect of their training center.
We encourage you to visit this new outdoor attraction in Richmond County and guarantee you will be amazed at this hidden gem nestled in the beautiful countryside outside of Ellerbe. Between the warm welcoming staff and the gorgeous scenic views, you will be sure to experience the utmost rich getaway!

You may know us from our rich racing history that begins with The Rock, but we are much more than that. We are a community of natural riches, with pristine forests, unspoiled rivers, and fertile farmland. We are the perfect entrance to North Carolina's Central Park, and the perfect escape for people who want to experience the great outdoors. Our preserved prehistoric Indian mound and woodlands are untouched since the days of discovery. A culture of family farms is alive and well in the numerous farms, peach orchards, and the vineyard. Richmond County is a very different place from a more traditional time, where we respect the lands and waters and the friends and families we call neighbors. From the railroad history in Hamlet to the fruit stands in Ellerbe and Norman, from the game lands around Hoffman to the historic courthouse town of Rockingham, Richmond County provides an authentic experience of true southern charm.
Find your Getaway from the everyday. Children from all over the region flock to Discovery Place Kids to laugh and learn. Sportsmen retreat here to hunt the lush longleaf pine woodlands of the Sandhills, get a unique wing-shooting experience at a nationally known hunting plantation, or even compete in field trials and sporting clays. Adventures come to our scenic rivers and roads for canoeing, hiking, running and biking experiences that are second to none.
In Richmond County, we firmly believe that everyone deserves a break. We are proud to live in a place that allows us to take a vacation every day. Whether it is outdoor adventure, agritourism, culture, history, or motorsports, we have it! We invite you to be our guest, experience our warmth and see what it means when we say, find your getaway in Richmond County, NC.
We love Richmond County tourists and visitors, so please come see us!
